The syllabus covers all aspects of British history and condenses it down into 24 questions with a 45-minute time limit. These questions are completely random and you need 75% correct answers to pass the test. It should be simple but a few difficult questions can ruin your whole test.

Here we have the top three tips to help you pass your Life in the UK test.

1. Take your time answering each questions
2. Practice your English words
3. DO NOT read the test book – just practice the questions and answers

That’s right you read point 3 correctly! Instead of reading the book try out FREE questions and answers papers on the website. Just log in and register for the questions and answers on our home page.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”REQUEST A FREE ASSESSMENT” shape=”round” color=”warning” size=”lg” align=”center” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Flearning.fasttracklifeuk.co.uk%2Ffree-assessment|||”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1940″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_custom_heading text=”1. Take Your Time Answering Each Question” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]

Some questions when you first read them will not be immediately clear.

Always read questions twice before answering the question.

Also, all questions are covered in the Life in the UK test training material. As long as you have studied properly beforehand then you will be well equipped to answer the question correctly.

You have 45 minutes to answer 24 questions so don’t rush – take your time – read the question twice and you should be fine. Also you can skip some questions and come back to them later.

This may be good if you get stressed and forget your information, it may come back to you later.

Practice Your English Words” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]Some people who take the Life in the UK test get confused by certain English words. If you are unsure about what a word means then write it down and double check it.

OR you can use Google Translate to help understand difficult concepts or words.

The test assumes that you have English skills at ESOL Entry Level 3 (now that is Trinity College London GESE Grade 5 exam). So the questions will be written to a pre-intermediate standard so it is always important to brush up on your English vocabulary skills beforehand.

DO NOT Read The Test Book – Just Practice The Questions and Answers!” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center|color:%23dd3333″][vc_column_text]Let’s repeat this point number 3 just for posterity. Please DO NOT read the test book – just practice the questions and answers!

PROBLEM:

The reason we say this is because the book is very large it includes:

The 5 Chapters of the Life in the UK test are as follows:

Chapter 1: The Values and Principles of the UK
Chapter 2: What is the UK
Chapter 3: A Long and Illustrious History
Chapter 4: A Modern and Thriving Society
Chapter 5: Government and Politics

If your English reading is good I still wouldn’t advise you to read these chapters as some of the information is not in your exam.

SOLUTION:

Instead just practice the questions and answers which you can find anywhere on the internet. The most accurate questions can be found here on our FREE QUESTIONS page. If you memorise the correct questions and answers you can cut your revision time by 8 hours on average.

I would always advise the easiest way for students to learn about the exam and always practice your English.

Once you are ready to take your test make sure you have either listened to the audio book or have completed all the practice questions in their entirety to ensure that you pass with confidence!
